Initial aromas of black pepper and vanilla, then progress to flowery and spicy notes. A silky and sensuous entrance into the mouth, sweet bitterness, and hints of dark caramel and almonds. A very balanced combination. Very great length in the mouth. This cognac is aged quickly in new barrels to preserve the eaux-de-vie's inherent aromatics. It will then be placed to an ancient barrel to mature in a damp basement, promoting roundness and highlighting the rancios. This blend consists of eaux-de-vie with and without lees, aged at least 18 years, and sourced only from the Petite and Grande Champagne terroirs."
