Aged for a year in a blend of Four Roses, Woodford Reserve, and Knob Creek bourbon barrels, this hefty barleywine finishes at 12% ABV. Notes of English toffee, bourbon caramel, and holiday spice overlay a mellow base that hides the bulk of the burn while retaining complexity. Rich and thicker than previous iterations, this year's Reserves release ups the ante of what barleywine can and should be.
