Fourth in a series of four killer interstate collaborations we’ve created with great Aussie brewing mates for IPA DAY ’26. Pacificus Maximus meaning: “Go big or go home.” If some hops are good, then logic says an unreasonable amount is always better.
There was no holding the brewers back when we joined forces with our Melbourne mates at Banks Brewing, with both teams fully embracing the ‘double down, brew exactly what you want, the way you want, as big as you want’ spirit behind this year’s IPA Day series.
A clean Cali malt base keeps things lean and crisp, allowing excessive quantities of Rakau, Krush, Nectaron, Cryo Nectaron and Krush HyperBoost to run the show. The aroma is pure Kiwi magic; ripe tropical fruit, juicy peach, citrus and that unmistakable Southern Hemisphere dankness leap from the glass before giving way to waves of stone fruit, resin and bright citrus peel.
The bitterness is firm, cleansing and unmistakably West Coast, slicing through the fruit character rather than fighting it. Every sip finishes crisp with a medium lingering bitterness that practically demands another. Proof that the no-half-measures approach always delivers.
