Lambic is one of the oldest beers in the world. Some consider it to be the best, despite the fact that its unique acidity does not appeal to everyone's taste buds. Some people decided to sweeten it to counteract the acidity. Faro was born as a result of this. At the time of Bruegel, adding sugar syrup to lambic was a discovery. (Some claim that Bruegel would have been robbed of inspiration and would have remained an average amateur painter whose canvases could not even be sold at a flea market if it hadn't been for faro.) Faro was particularly popular in the Brussels region until the 19th century. It was commonly mentioned in folklore, and the divine liquid flowed like water.

Faro thereafter faded into obscurity. Our family didn't bring it back to the forefront until 1978. Or, if you like, centre Senne. Faro is not only easy to drink, but it is also enjoyable to do so after physical effort.

Sweet and sour!

I’ve had this quite a few times as it’s the only readily available Faro I can find in Australia.
I like drinking this beer very cold and letting it warm on my tongue for 30 seconds. It’s a real roller coaster with it very sweet while cold and the sourness builds as it warms. Overall a nice sherberty character from this style I wish we had more in Australia.
